my question is how to wear red lipstick! it looks beautiful and classy if done right! but how can i apply without looking like a clown! helpful hints, colors, brands, techniques! thanks so muchHow to wear red lipstick?
Draw a light frame around your lips with a lip liner then use a lip brush to brush in the colour from the lipstick. No.7 and Bourjois lipsticks are quite good - they're creamy and moisturising. How to wear red lipstick?
if you have red hair i would not wear red lipstick it will clash. red hair is a warm color. you need a warm lipstick something in a beige, taupe or orangey tones. No true red - no pink for red heads.
true red is a cool color and is really for blondes and brunettes. true red lipsticks (and clothes) should have bluish tones not orangeish tones.
if you have red hair and you wear the orangesish tones you will look great because these tones match your skin.
think of your warm tones as ';fall colors';. the tans golds and browns and oranges
Cool tones are deep colors like deep purple, deep red, bright pink - more summer and winter colors.

THIS WEBSITE ACTUALLY SHOWS YOU HOW TO PUT ON RED LIPSTICK!! http://www.filly.ca/health/beauty/make-u鈥?/a>
STEP 1: Put the lipstick on.
STEP 2: Press your lips together (Hard to explain but if you look in the mirror it should look like you have no lips because they're pressed together.
STEP 3: Take a tissue, stick it between your lips and press down. (This will eliminate a coat of the lipstick so that it isn't dark but still looks red. I do it all the time and it really works.)
P.S. The brand doesn't really matter so long as you do the steps above, they all will look the same in the end weather its Revlon or Estee Lauder.
Keep in mind that some lipsticks only looks good on some people. That color is just one of those.
Most the Classy Reds are with a blue hugh it makes your teeth look more white and usually won't wash out your face and make you look cheap.
Red usually bleeds, so you might have to use a lip primer, and a gloss on top to keep it in place. I probably would not use a lip liner because if the red lightens you will have the round about on your lips it looks horrible.
I sell mary kay and like thier reds but Lancomb has a nicer one.
good luck
Take the lipstick and smear some on your hand (not your palm), kinda like the lipstick swatches you see online.
then, take your ring finger on your hand and dab it into the lipstick, and from there DAB the lipstick onto your lips. This way, the lipstick will look natural. NEVER smear the lipstick onto your lips directly from the tube
**Applying lipstick this way (the right way) will also eliminate the need for you to rub your lips together.
After you're done, take your index finger and form an ';O'; shape with your lips around your finger. Then, pull your finger out of your mouth (with your lips still in an ';O'; shape). This will prevent those lipstick stains on your teeth
if your skin is pale you should try to go with a more subtle red, not too bright so not you don't look like a clown. use any brand you are familiar with, however use a lipstick with a decent amount of moisture in it so that your lips look lush red not like a five year old in her mothers make-up. i would only wear this on special occasions or nights out, during the day this will not look as great as it will at night.
good luck girl, hope i helped.
red lipstick is a very pretty color and from what I have seen only looks good on certain people.I would go with a red lip-liner and a lighter red lipstick and gloss to top it off,if you feel comfortable with how you look then stick with it.It may take a few times with different shades of red till you are happy.
Well red lipstick is a very loud look. I think it really depends on your lips and your style. If you have small lips red lipstick might look goofy on you. If you think your lips deserve that much attention then go for it and just try on different outfits until you find one that looks appropriate.
it all depends on the color of your skin and hair.
if you are fair skinned, then an orange red works, but if you have red hair like your avatar then i suggest a pink toned red. lightly apply and blend toward the corners with your finger or a lip brush. dont stress meeting all the corners, and cover with a gloss
i always apply a clear lipgloss over the top of the lipstick to make it look glossier. but it is a very loud look and it doesn't suit everybody.
You just put it on...i don't really think there's a ';special'; way to put on red lipstick. Well, i might be wrong so why don't you try going to Spehora the people that work there are very helpful.
:)
I like using just red lip liner and smudge the line into the lips for a real natural sexy look
also, the brighter on the lips, less on the eyes
many people feel clownish at first but the trick is to look at your skin and hair color, to find the right shade then you must wear it with confidence or you will still feel clownish.
only wear red lipstick with light or pale eyeshadow colors and light blush to not overdue it
Don't wear it some girls don't suit red lipstick
Try wet red lipstick
how do you wear it? on yer head like a hat.
that's my power stick
put it on your face.
on your lips
