If The ';Lipstick'; Comment wasn't implied, then why was the audience laughing so hard?

Honestly, you think that line would be funny without the pitbull lipstick comment?If The ';Lipstick'; Comment wasn't implied, then why was the audience laughing so hard?
She was the one who used the lipstick comment first to, essentially, describe herself in a joke - why is Obama alluding to that joke with one of his own such a big deal? I'm confused.

How is it different than the Republicans poking fun at Obama and his stances on change, etc.?If The ';Lipstick'; Comment wasn't implied, then why was the audience laughing so hard?
Only to someone who'd never heard the expression before, and honey, that joke is even older than I am.

Of course they made the reference to Palin. Or one person did, and started laughing, and everyone else copied him without knowing why. The latter is always a possibility, given who they're supporting.

鈥?The phrase ';lipstick on a pig'; is a common American expression that even John McCain has used repeatedly, most notably on October 11, 2007 when referring to Hillary Clinton's health plan.

If you watch the video, clearly Senator Obama was referring to McCain's pretending to be the ';agent of change.';

It's a non-starter and a non-issue.

Just more Republican hypocrisy.

McCain used this comment before also. Its not something I would use to make comparisons but whatever

Drawing comparisons between New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's current healthcare plan and the one she championed in 1993, Arizona Sen. John McCain joked Thursday, ';I think they put some lipstick on the pig, but it's still a pig.';
The ';lipstick'; comment was a direct HIT thats why they were laughing. He came out fighting. We all know it was a hit and after a few weeks of him being quiet and pleasant, it was nice to see him hit back and stand up for himself and the Dems. I loved it.
Huh? Why is everyone looking so much into this comment? It was nothing more than a funny ice breaker type remark for the audience. Everyone is running with this one and even the stupidst comment will be hard for her to live down.
Tangent, Tangent, Tangent. I'm tired of talking about Palin. I want to talk about the economy, high gas prices, the unusually high unemployment rate, high food prices and the housing crisis. That is all.
All I can say is it shows Obama's attitude toward women, He obviously looks down his nose at Palin just like he did with Hillary.
Audience perception.
Probably cause they were too dumb to realize that that line has been used elsewhere and wanted it to be about Palin...
exactly, I love your point. I hope Sean Hannity points that out tonight.
Consider the crowd - idiots will laugh at anything.. easily swayed and amused...
