Why do you make such a big deal about Obama's ';Pig Lipstick'; comment?

Senitor McCain has used the same comment, and Obama was not even refering to Sarah Palin .. It's sad that people think they have to make up rumors in order to win. This is just pathetic!Why do you make such a big deal about Obama's ';Pig Lipstick'; comment?
Actually, McCain has used the expression too, in reference to Hillary's proposals. If you expect an apology from Obama, then McCain needs to apologize first.

McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health-care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's plan, he said it was ';eerily reminiscent'; of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the 1990s.

';I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig,'; he said ...

Why do you make such a big deal about Obama's ';Pig Lipstick'; comment?
If you listen to his statement again you will realize it was not:

';you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig';, but

';you can put lipstick on a pig............... but it's still a pig';

The crowd reacted as planned and laughed during his extended pause. They Democrats in the audience surely seemed to know the true meaning of his statement.

Here's another popular saying for you:

';Even a dog knows the difference between being kicked and being stumbled over.';

- Oliver Wendell Holmes
/ No. Sen. McCain did not say the same thing.

Sen. McCain said, ';You don't want to get into a wrestling match with a pig. You only get dirty, and the pig likes it'; That was a reference to Mitt Romney's campaign ads.

Obama made a deroggatory comment directly aimed at Gov. Palin by clearly calling her a pig. Obama isn't changing the look of politics, he is reinforcing the nasty side of it becuse he's loosing it.

Let's see

for a week the press and everyone else has ben calling Governor Palin a pitbull with lipstick

today Obama makes a statement pretty close to ';if you put lipstick on a pig, its still a pig!';

now, regardless of whatever was said in the past, by anyone, the context today reflects VERY BADLY on Mr. Obama.

Obama is toast!

Poor cons.

You have no good ideas about what to do about the mess you got us into on Iraq, energy, women's issues, healthcare and the economy. So you take the lead from Iran and do a ';photoshop'; chop job (in this case an audio edit taking Obama's words out of context) to try to fool us unwashed masses.

Do we have to put up with this kind of smear campaign we get every 4 years from the Republican dirty tricks and slime machine? Nixon did it with Watergate. The apple obviously doesn't fall far from the tree.

We won't get conned again!

Obama/Biden '08 -- Change we can believe in from honest patriots.
I'm with you - I am tired of all the ';political correctness'; and everyone being overly worried about what they say and who they might offend. Almost everything that someone says these days can be misconstrued to mean something else and to be seen as insulting. It's ridiculous and it needs to stop.
Obama can't speak off the top of his head.

He was referring to Sarah Palin. She used a ';Pitbull in Lipstick'; joke during her acceptance speech.

Obama being the ';cool guy'; President was trying to make a joke off of her, but screwed up the joke by confusing the Pitbull with a Pig.
please obama supporters, the truth is the truth and obama must to say: ';I'm sorry for my misogynous words';. It's obvious.

Some things are more importants than the support for a politic.

And please, read the kNOTaLIAwyR's answer.
I think it was an obvious play on words, referring to both McCain and Palin. It will, as everything spoken in the political arena, be taken completely out of context, right or wrong.

How's this for a non-partisan comment?
Barry is becoming a tactless blabber mouth who exposes the ills of having a wife like Michelle. When Michelle puts a lipstick, she still looks the same to Barry.
McCain didn't say it right after Palin had made a lipstick related remark about hockey moms and herself. McCain used it when it wasn't closely related to someone. Obama obviously was directing it at Palin.
I'm voting for McCain and I, too, think this is pathetic!

If you had listened to the comment in context, you would know that SHE was not even mentioned.

I could care less she is a PIG in Lipstick ';OINK, OINK';

OBAMA IN 08
It's pathetic that people can't see it for what it was. Obama clearly knew that the saying would be taken offensively as a jab to Palin although he was speaking about McCain's change.
It is just typical bluster. I think Obama was tired when he said it and wasn't thinking. It's an old saying but I guess lipstick is a touchy subject these days.

McCain 08
don't change Obama's words. He said it and it was patently stupid and disrespectful.
When he referred to Mitt Romney as a pig, yeah, but Palin's no pig, she's a moose with lipstick.
Context is everything. Obama made a serious boo-boo.
Palin is a pig so annoying ... religious nut!!!
Because he asked for it when he made another stupid remark
Just manufactured outrage. No talk on the issues, either
enabler
You and I both know what was going through Obama's mind. You could tell by the faces of the people in the audience.
finally some one agrees with me
I am sure you are just outraged, huh?
