Why do you think the liberal media wasn't offended when obama called Palin a pig in lipstick?

Because he never did. This lie has been going on for days, and is going to be an embarrassment to the Republicican Party

McCain used the same phrase same context same circumstances

Check for yourself

Obama never mentioned Palin in his speech. Provide me Proof..I challenge you to produce one credible source that includes her in that speech. he was talking about McCain's Policies.

OBAMA: Let's just list this for a second. John McCain says he's about change, too. Except -- and so I guess his whole angle is, ';Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health-care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl Rove-style politics. We're really gonna shake things up in Washington.'; That's not change. That's just calling some -- the same thing, something different. But you know, you can -- you know, you can put lipstick on a pig; it's still a pig.

What about McCain saying THE SAME EXACT THING when referring to Hillary Clinton's healthcare plan?? What is there a double standard or something? Obama wasn't even speaking about Palin he was talking about McCain and his economic policy. Please people this is a distraction from real issues. The lipstick comment was pinned on Palin by McCain's camp, Obama ddin't mention her. Just watch the link. McCain says the same thing

Why do you think the liberal media wasn't offended when obama called Palin a pig in lipstick?
Probably because they are intelligent enough to understand the metaphor (just as they understood it earlier in the campaign when McCain used it).

Obama at no point referred to Palin as a pig in lipstick. He did not even mention her name.

He was using a common expression with respect to pointing out that McCain can talk about ';change'; and ';reform'; all he wants - he is still offering the same old machinations - albeit with some extra decoration (ie the lipstick).

It is funny that when Palin supporters hear ';pig'; they and they alone immediately think ';Palin';.Why do you think the liberal media wasn't offended when obama called Palin a pig in lipstick?
Have you not discovered the link of Union media and Union Hollywood and Union Print media to a Union candidate (Democrat).

Obama is a ';Unionizer';. Hollywood and the media have collaborated to be his public relations agent. We are now living in a world of corrupt media and government that is perpetuating a groupthink.

(mold the young and they are yours) - Union Hollywood celebs, Union Music Bands, singers, teachers, Union writers of (textbooks, newspapers, magazines) a kid today is spoonfed from the time the start kindergarten,

George Orwell's ';1984'; where Winston says he won't become ';one of them';, yet through the process of being culturized, he slowly slips into braindead and doesn't even realize it.

Welcome to now.

---------------------------------
Obama referred to the Republicans practice of repeating lies to the American people as putting lipstick on a pig. That means that just because you SAY someone is going to change Washington doesn't mean he WILL. McCain voted FOR Bush's policies 90%of the time. That is trying to pass something off as something else, otherwise known as putting lipstick on a pig.Mc Cain used the same phrase not long ago to describe Hillary Clinton's health plan. Where were the people accusing him of misogyny? Dick Cheney has used the phrase too.
Actually Obama called the policies of John McCain the pig w/lipstick. He did not even mention Sarah Palin. Also, John McCain called Hillary's POLICIES a pig w/lipstick and Hillary didn't whine sexism?? Is this woman NOT tough or what? Why does she have to be babied and coddled? She needs to toughen up to play w/the big boys and not fall apart at the slightest comment. It's going to get much more difficult up the road and she better get with it quick!

Rainman you are awesome dude! Hope I can copy some of those words of wisdom.
Ok I'm a McCain supporter....can't stand Obama...but if you listen to that whole quote he was NOT calling Palin a pig. He was using that line talking about Bush policies and McCain's policies being similar....It was much like when McCain talked about Hillary's health care paln and used that same line.

Honestly people....I like McCain and Palin and I'm voting for them but enough already about how she's being attacked. Obviously she CAN take it b/c she's in politics.
Another supporter of Palin just because she is a woman. If you actually looked at the facts, than you would know that Obama didn't call her a pig.

Palin hype will end soon, you'll see the polls go back in favor of Obama because Palin can't even do one interview without a script and McCain is a dissapointment.

Obama/Biden 2008.

For me, this surreal moment - like the entire surrealism of the past ten days - is not really about Sarah Palin or Barack Obama or pigs or fish or lipstick. It's about John McCain. The one thing I always thought I knew about him is that he is a decent and honest person. When he knows, as every sane person must, that Obama did not in any conceivable sense mean that Sarah Palin is a pig, what did he do? Did he come out and say so and end this charade? Or did he acquiesce in and thereby enable the mindless Rovianism that is now the core feature of his campaign?

So far, he has let us all down. My guess is he will continue to do so. And that decision, for my part, ends whatever respect I once had for him. On core moral issues, where this man knew what the right thing was, and had to pick between good and evil, he chose evil. When he knew that George W. Bush's war in Iraq was a fiasco and catastrophe, and before Donald Rumsfeld quit, McCain endorsed George W. Bush against his fellow Vietnam vet, John McCain in 2004. By that decision, McCain lost any credibility that he can ever put country first. He put party first and his own career first ahead of what he knew was best for the country.

And when the Senate and House voted overwhelmingly to condemn and end the torture regime of Bush and Cheney in 2006, McCain again had a clear choice between good and evil, and chose evil.

He capitulated and enshrined torture as the policy of the United States, by allowing the CIA to use techniques as bad as and worse than the torture inflicted on him in Vietnam. He gave the war criminals in the White House retroactive immunity against the prosecution they so richly deserve. The enormity of this moral betrayal, this betrayal of his country's honor, has yet to sink in. But for my part, it now makes much more sense. He is not the man I thought he was.

And when he had the chance to engage in a real and substantive debate against the most talented politician of the next generation in a fall campaign where vital issues are at stake, what did McCain do? He began his general campaign with a series of grotesque, trivial and absurd MTV-style attacks on Obama's virtues and implied disgusting things about his opponent's patriotism.

And then, because he could see he was going to lose, ten days ago, he threw caution to the wind and with no vetting whatsoever, picked a woman who, by her decision to endure her own eight-month pregnancy of a Down Syndrome child in public, that he was going to reignite the culture war as a last stand against Obama. That's all that is happening right now: a massive bump in the enthusiasm of the Christianist base. This is pure Rove.

Yes, McCain made a decision that revealed many appalling things about him. In the end, his final concern is not national security. No one who cares about national security would pick as vice-president someone who knows nothing about it as his replacement. No one who cares about this country's safety would gamble the security of the world on a total unknown because she polled well with the Christianist base. No person who truly believed that the surge was integral to this country's national security would pick as his veep candidate a woman who, so far as we can tell anything, opposed it at the time.

McCain has demonstrated in the last two months that he does not have the character to be president of the United States. And that is why it is more important than ever to ensure that Barack Obama is the next president. The alternative is now unthinkable. And McCain - no one else - has proved it.
Obama wasn't calling Palin a Pig! Obama was talking about McCain continuing Bush policies. The saying You can put ';Lipstick on a Pig'; however its still a Pig! means this You can pretty up something however its still the same! You can pretty up the Bush policies however they are still Bush policies! Get your information correct! Obama is not about Dis-respecting people. That's not his style however the republicans have no problem lying about little things rather than talk about the issues!

Obama/Biden 2008!

Ebony %26amp; Ivory Presidency!
Obama wasn't talking about Palin.

However, I'm sorry the Republicans have such a low opinion of Palin.

Obama mentions pig and the Republicans automatically think Palin.

That is so funny that the Republicans think of Palin when a pig is mentioned! LOL! HEHEHE!
because he didnt call her a pig in lipstick its a well used saying or didnt u hear mccain use it when talking about hillary clintons health care plan. mccain wasnt calling hillary a pig he was calling her plan a pig and obama was calling john mccains policies a pig in lipstick check for the whole story next time save us all some time
He didn't call her a pig in lipstick. Really, he didn't.

But you won't believe anything that you don't hear on Fox News.

Politicians (including McCain) have used the pig and lipstick line a lot. http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/09/10/鈥?/a>

The same reason when McCain said the exact same thing when talking about Hillary on economics. Also, Obama was talking about McCains policies when he made this comment. Palins name was never mentioned. This is old news now. Give it up.
Maybe because it wasn't a big deal... and maybe because McCain called Obama a pig in lipstick several months ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR8IhMMhe鈥?/a>
What does liberal mean? If it means ';objective'; I think they just looked at the accusation an exposed it as another Republican lie and propaganda tool.

He didn't. He was making an analogy. You can dress something up, but it's still what it is. I believe he was talking about policy. If anyone has a link to the clip, we could check it out.
Most likely because Obama didn't call palin a pig in lipstick.

The fundies will continue to spin it though, much to my amusement.
He didn't call Palin a pig in lipstick.

But on the Letterman show, he did call her the lipstick on McCain's pig of a policy!

He would have been crucified if he was a conservative!
Because he didn't call Palin a pig in lipstick.

How about when the ';moral'; McCain called Hillary a pig. Can't have it two sides you know.
That's Lipstick on a Pig

Pork is still Pork even if you put Lipstick on it

A Pig is still a Pig even if you put lipstick on it
Because they are Liberal! What do you expect? You suspect a liberal, they open their mouth, and sure enough it is a liberal!!!
because they are all for obama. the whole election is a joke and obama would not be who he is without the media. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Nobody was truly offended. It's what's known as a tempest in a teapot, campaign rhetoric over nada.
Why did you call Obama a muslim? He's not a Muslim, he's an American, stupid. You gotta be born in American to be pres.
becuase he didnt.

pig= mccain and palin

lipstick=change

how retarded do you have to be to think he was talking about palins looks.
Because the 'liberal' media is smart enough to know that Obama didn't call Palin a pig.

Add: very good, Rainman
He didn't call anybody a pig. He meant no matter how you dress up something bad, it's still bad. Only stupid people didn't get it.
Wow. Just keep the issues under wraps so we can keep talking about the pig with lipstick.
He was referring to Pork Barrel Spending. Palin is notorious for that.
Where were you when Goddie passed out brains, woman? Talking abstinence with Sarah Palin?
Because they are bigotted liberals the same reason they do not report black on white crime but overreport ';hate crimes';
